Abstract

Early Childhood Development needs to get thet right stimulus. In the current digital are, it is found that many young children are alreaddy using gadgets excessively. Parent have an important role in assisting children so that children are not affected by the negative influence of gadgets. This research was conducted to determine the cognitive development of early childhood, parents understanding of digital parenting and the implications of digital parenting in enhancing early childhood cognitive development This type of research was carried out with a descriptive qualitative approach. The research data sources were in the form of documents and resource persons consisting of eleven parent and eleven early children. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, documentation, and interviews. Checking the validity of the data is done by using data triangulation techniques. Data analysis techniques were carried out using the Miles and Huberman modal which included data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of field research show that: (1) There are variations in the achievement of early childhood cognitive development in the Undeveloped category (BB) with a total of 0 with a percentage of 0%, while in the Beginning to Develop (MB) category there are seven children with a total percentage of 63.63%, in the Developing According to Expectations (BSH) category, there were four children with a total percentage of 36.36%, while in the Very Well Developed (BSB) category, none of the eleven children had yet appeared. (2) Parents understanding of digital parenting in Ngropoh Hamlet is still limited, because there are still many parents who apply rules for using gadgets, but they still make negligence by not accompanying, not supervising and inconsistent with the rules made for early childhood. (3) The implications of digital parenting carried out by parents in Ngropoh Hamlet in improving the cognitive development of early childhood are utilizing latter and number recognition applications, making gadgets a means of stimulating music before going to bed and using YouTube for learning daily prayer.
