Abstract

This research is motivated by the ideality gap between the implementation of the Adiwiyata program. The Adiwiyata Program is a series of program activities of the State Ministry of Environment. The program was formed as an effort to create knowledge and awareness of school members so that they become a character who cares about the environment. To implement the Adiwiyata program, an appropriate management strategy is needed, so that the desired goals can be achieved. Research on this thesis was conducted at MTs Ma'arif Jumo, Temanggung Regency. The aims of this study were: 1) to describe the concept of the madrasah management strategy in implementing the program, 2) to analyze the madrasah principal's management strategy in developing the character of a disciplinary culture, 3) to analyze the results obtained from implementing the madrasah principal's management strategy in the Adiwiyata program. This type of research conducted by researchers is descriptive qualitative research. The approach used in this research is an in-depth study of the object under study. Data collection techniques in this study are through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique in this study is the Miles and Hurberman technique, namely by reducing and presenting data. The results of the study show that: First, the application of the management concept of the Adiwiyata program at MTs Ma'arif Jumo has implemented management functions starting from planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising and evaluating quite well. However, there is no specific strategy for implementing the Adiwiyata program at MTs Ma'arif Jumo, the madrasa head is only the executor of the program given by the Temanggung Regency Environmental Service. Second, the implementation of management strategies in developing the cultural character of student discipline is carried out through integrating programs into subjects, routine activities, spontaneous activities, exemplary activities, and madrasah extracurricular activities. Third, the results of the implementation of the madrasah head management strategy in the Adiwiyata program at MTs Ma'arif Jumo can be seen in the behavioral, character and socio-cultural aspects. In the aspect of behavior and character, they have shown a caring attitude towards the environment. In the socio-cultural aspect it produces values, norms and regulations that can make patterned activities and actions that can produce works that have beneficial values.
