Abstract

Cryptocurrency is the result of technological developments, especially developments in the current virtual currency sector. In Indonesia, cryptocurrency virtual currencies such as bitcoin and others have become investment assets. However, in Indonesia, they are not considered legal payment instruments due to risk considerations and cryptocurrency issuers do not provide any guarantees. This study aims to determine the level of one's acceptance of the use of cryptocurrency trading applications using the theoretical framework of the Technology Acceptance Model. Researchers also consider the factor of trust (trust) and risk factors (risk). In trading virtual currencies cryptocurrency can provide higher returns, but can also offer a higher risk of loss and higher volatility. The research was conducted by collecting data with an online questionnaire. The number of samples used was 184 cryptocurrency trading application users. The results show that the variables perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude, intention, and trust can explain (actual use) one's acceptance of using a cryptocurrency trading application. Surprisingly, the risk is not a factor that influences a person's intention to use a cryptocurrency trading application. This is because someone already understands that trading cryptocurrency is risky. The results of this study are expected to provide benefits for the industrial world engaged in the development of cryptocurrency trading applications and for subsequent researchers to contribute to the improvement of the model proposed in this study.
