Abstract

This research aims to answer three questions, namely: (1) How picture number puzzles can improve AUD cognitive development in RA Al-Ashriyah Langsa City. (2) Why is it important to improve AUD cognitive development in RA Al-Ashriyah Langsa City. (3) What is the impact of pictorial number puzzle media on AUD cognitive development at RA Al-Ashriyah Langsa. This is a type of descriptive qualitative research. Data collection was obtained by means of observation, interview, and documentation techniques. In analyzing the data, the research uses an interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman which starts from data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. And the data validity technique is done by triangulation. The results showed that: (1) This picture number puzzle game can improve cognitive development in RA Al-Ashriyah group B1 Langsa. Based on the observations made by the author, the improvement in children's development is clearly visible in the pretest and posttest scoring tables (before and after being given the game). Furthermore, based on interviews that children can explore, manipulate, imagine, solve problems, socialize, cooperate with groups, and have fun experiences. This illustrated number puzzle game also involves good eye, hand and foot coordination, this is a good exercise for children because many activities in a child's life use the eyes, hands and feet. (2) Picture number puzzle games can improve various aspects of cognitive development such as training children's symbolic thinking, this can be seen in this game children will be trained to mention various numbers, this game also trains children's memory of various numbers through game activities, so that children will more easily memorize numbers through games. In addition to enhancing cognitive development, picture number puzzle games also enhance physical, motor and social emotional development. (3) The impact of pictorial number puzzle games on children's cognitive development in group B1 RA Al-Ashriyah is that it can stimulate children's cognitive development, especially in terms of recognizing number symbols, besides that it can train children's symbolic thinking, train fine motor skills, respect older people, train child patience, responsibility, socialization.
