Abstract

Wages are all kinds of payments arising from the employment contract, regardless of the type of work. Wages show the income received by workers in return for the work they do. Wages can be given in cash or in kind. As is the case with wages for workers where the employer needs workers to complete the work, and workers need wages to meet the necessities of life. Ija>rah is a form of muamalah that connects the two parties, namely the person who gives the object that can be used to the person who works for the benefit of it with replacement or an exchange that has been determined by syara' without ending ownership. The type of research used is qualitative research by looking for data directly to the field to find out more clearly about the subject matter. The approach taken is juridical-normative where this research uses data collection techniques, namely interviews, and documentation. The results of the author's research found that the practice of hiring tea garden pickers at Pt. Mitra Kerinci Kec. Sangir Kab. Solok Selatan there is a lack of clarity at the beginning of the contract by the company, and the amount of wages given is still below the district minimum wage that should be given by the company. This causes the workers to be displeased with the company even though they have been given permission to live in the company's house or garden house, but the wages they receive are not sufficient to provide for their lives
