Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on credit agreements in banking. The debtors experience difficulties in terms of carrying out their achievements against their obligations in accordance with what has been agreed in the credit agreement. This is due to the Covid pandemic which hampers the pace of the economy in the community so that debtors can default on credit agreements. This study aims to determine the settlement of default on credit agreements during the Covid-19 pandemic and the obstacles. This type of research is a field research conducted at the office of PT. BPR BKK Kebumen Karanganyar Branch. This study uses a research approach that is empirical juridical. The data used are primary data obtained by conducting observations and interviews, as well as secondary data in the form of library research. Analysis of the data used with descriptive qualitative method, namely drawing conclusions deductively. The results obtained that the settlement of default on credit agreements during the Covid-19 pandemic is carried out by credit relaxation based on Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) Number 11 of 2020 concerning Economic Stimulus for the Impact of Covid-19 which regulates the granting of relief to debtors affected by the pandemic. Covid-19. The relief provided by credit restructuring is in the form of delaying the payment of principal installments for six months and during this period the debtor only pays the interest. However, there are still some obstacles, namely the lack of cooperative attitude of the debtor and the debtor who avoids the bank because of ignorance about the granting of the relief so that it is difficult to negotiate.
