Abstract

The purpose of this project is to (1) develop an e-module based on problem solving to faciliate critical thingking skills of MAN 2 Bantul students regarding temperature and heat materials (2) Knowing the quality of e-modules that have been produced based on problem-solving to faciliate the critical thingking abilities of MAN 2 Bantul students on temperature and heat materials (3) Knowing the students’ reactions to the problem-solving based e-modules prepared to faciliate the student’s critical thingking skills regarding temperature and heat materials in MAN 2 Bantul. This research makes use of Research and Development (R&D) research. Yhe process for creating this research employs a 4-D model consisting of 4 stages: (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Development, and (4) Disseminate). This study is restricted to the stage of development, which is a small tria. This study utilized product validation sheets, E-module assessment sheets, and student responses sheets as its tools. In the meantime, problem-solving based E-module quality asessment to foster critical thingking abilities in MAN 2 Bantul pupils use a Likert scale with 4 scales, and student replies use the Guttman scale as a checklist. The results of this study led to the development of E-module based on problem-solving to faciliate the critical thingking skills of MAN 2 Bantull students on temperature and heat material. The quality of the E-module is rated as very good (SB) based on the evaluations of material specialists and media experts, with mean scores of 3,32 and 3,42, respectively and the evaluations of physics professors, with a mean score of 3,63. In the meantime, student’s responses on small field test has on agree category (S) with a mean score of 0,94.
