Abstract

This research is motivated by several cases of students who lack discipline in speaking and behave in a disciplined manner such as being impolite in talking to teachers and friends, bullying friends, being late for activities, not wearing neat clothes and in accordance with the rules. Educational institutions have an important role in shaping the character of students, especially the character of discipline. Discipline coaching is an attempt to instill values so that students have the ability to obey a rule. In addition, SMA Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah has an SDI (Syu'un Dirosah Islamiyah) team that fosters students to become kaffah Muslims. The purpose of this study is to analyze the pattern of character building in improving student discipline and prove the success of character building in shaping student discipline at Al Irsyad Al Islamiyah Boarding School Purwokerto High School, before and after the implementation of disciplinary character building. This type of research uses field research (field research). This research approach using a psychological approach is used to determine the symptoms shown before and after the coaching process. The benefits of this research can provide scientific contributions in the scientific treasures of Islamic Religious Education regarding the pattern of fostering student discipline characters and are expected to contribute in terms of contributing ideas to implementing student discipline character building at Al Irsyad Al Islamiyah Boarding School Purwokerto High School. The results of the research from the pattern of coaching carried out at SMA Al Irsyad Al Islamiyah Boarding School Purwokerto using exemplary patterns, habituation patterns, advice patterns and punishment patterns. The strategy used in building disciplined character is by example, habituation, advice, successful midday prayers, cheerful mornings, recording points with appropriate e-applications, rewards and consequences. Student discipline at SMA Al Irsyad Al Islamiyah Boarding School Purwokerto is divided into two criteria. First, the criteria for children who are considered good and can be role models for their friends. The two criteria are students who are still lacking in discipline and influence each other between friends to violate.
