Abstract

This research is backgrounded by the phenomenon of the plurality of Indonesian people's lives. Indonesia has 273 million people with different racial, ethnic and religious backgrounds. Of course, with the variety of Indonesian society, it has become a must to maintain diversity and pluralism as a form of tolerance between fellow Indonesian citizens. Recently, the understanding of radical Islam has strengthened which is characterized by many cases of intolerance both in the community and in schools. . This is of course a problem that must be overcome immediately because it can damage the social construction of a very multicultural Indonesian society. The problem will be even more complicated and worrying when radical understanding and religious intolerance have also infected students in schools. The key to the creation of tolerance and harmony between people is to respect each other's rights as citizens, including in carrying out religious shari'a that is believed by every citizen. The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of internalization of Islamic religious values and strategies in applying religious moderation in the world of education and its influence on Islamic religious education This type of research is qualitative research with the approach used in this study is phenomenology. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation The results of this study show the school's strategy in strengthening the values of Islamic religious education for Muslim students in fostering an attitude of religious moderation. 1) Internalization Internalization strategies are designed through persuasion approaches, integrative policies of religious moderation, intracurricular activities. 2) Implementation of internalization in the form of habituation of daily religious activities and spiritual activities ROHIS 3) the implications of internalizing Islamic religious values lead to increased quality of worship, social care, and mutual respect or tolerance with others.
