Abstract

Internalization of religious moderation values is important in educational institutions because education is the driving force for moderation.The aims of this research are 1)To know the concept of internalizing the value of religious moderation. 2) To describe the implementation of the internalization of religious moderation values. 3) To analyze the implications of internalizing the value of religious moderation on mindsets, attitudes and behavior in Yogyakarta City Junior High Schools. This research is a type of qualitative research or field research with a pedagogical approach. Data collection techniques are through observation, interviews, and documentation. While the data analysis technique used in this research is data triangulation, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion or verification. The results of this study: 1) Internalization of the value of religious moderation in MTs Negeri 1 Yogyakarta using the Islamic concept of Wassatiyah, and SMP BOPKRI 3 Yogyakarta using the Golden Mean or the concept of love, while at SMP Negeri 4 using religious moderation. This concept is a hidden curriculum, which is a hidden program that greatly affects the development of students. Values include; values of honesty, politeness, discipline, peace, tolerance, compassion, brotherhood, mutual cooperation, responsibility, fairness, help, forgiveness, respect and appreciation. 2) implementation of value planting, namely through school cultural activities, learning, extracurricular activities. The strategies used are free strategies, role models, refraction and supervision, while the media used include teachers, books, pictures, videos, computers, flyers, social media, places of worship. 3) implications for the mindset that students in junior high school only understand and understand the meaning of differences in religion, ethnicity, race, culture and customs. The attitude of students can be seen from the attitude of how students follow school culture such as the 5S culture, the attitude of brotherhood among others. While the behavior of students in schools that are homogeneous and heterogeneous is very visible in how students are good friends, help each other, cooperate with each other and spread affection, while tolerance in respecting differences in beliefs is more visible in heterogeneous schools than in homogeneous schools. So the values of religious moderation are very important to be instilled in students from an early age so that these values are instilled in them which will then have a good impact on the perspectives, attitudes and behavior of students in their daily lives and lead to a harmonious and harmonious life. full of peace both in the life of individuals, society, and life as a whole.
