Abstract

This research is motivated by student self-development entities in the millennial era, which is a challenge as well as an opportunity for students, using work ethic, discipline, and creative thinking. With a focus on becoming the next generation of the nation after the previous generation. In self-development always has a relationship with time management which should be managed properly. Self-development through time management is not something foreign to us Islamic students. Prior to the existence of theories that explain this, the Qur'an and hadith have already discussed it. In the MPI Masters Study Program, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, it was found that it was not yet effective in applying self-development that refers to the Qur'an and hadis and had not used the time as well as possible in developing oneself. This clearly contradicts the Qur'an and hadith. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing how to apply student self-development strategies through time management from the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadis at the MPI Masters Study Program, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Why is it important to implement time management that refers to the Qur'an and Hadis for students of the MPI Masters Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. And what are the obstacles faced by students in implementing self-development through time management from the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadis at the MPI Masters Study Program, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This research is a qualitative type with an ethnographic approach. The study was conducted on students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga (20 people) and 3 lecturers regardless of place and time. By using interview data collection techniques and also documentation. And using data analysis using Miles and Huberman by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study: (1) Students have carried out self-development in time management with full confidence, but have not been able to be consistent. set targets but not with careful planning. Learn to solve problems well. Not all students make God as the basis for self-development. Students have also developed themselves according to their interests. However, they are not yet fully aware of the dangers of being lazy in developing themselves and wasting a lot of time. (2) Many of the students are still wasting time in vain, because they do not have a clear plan in developing themselves. However, in collaboration, students really provide great support even though some are serious about it and some are not. And students evaluate themselves in a unique way but have not been able to fully make the evaluation results into a change. (3) The obstacle faced by students in developing themselves is laziness. lack of enthusiasm, lack of motivation, lack of sincerity, lack of patience, lack of understanding of Islamic values, feeling tired, bored. With the results of this study, it can be seen that good self-development must be carried out with good management by making the Qur'an and hadith as a reference.
