Abstract

The celebration of the Prophet's birthday is a major celebration of the Islamic religion in order to remind us to emulate the figure of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The celebration of the Prophet's birthday is commemorated in almost all communities throughout Indonesia in various ways combined with unique traditions and culture, one of which is in Bagek Nunggal, Peteluan Indah Village, West Lombok Regency. Maulid Nabi is commemorated by carrying out socialreligious activities such as completing the Al-Qur'an, aqiqah and also circumcision. Uniquely, the Sasak culture which is very attached to the community is combined with the birthday celebration, but gradually begins to erode the true nature of the Prophet's birthday so that there is a shift in the birthday celebration. The problem in this research is: 1. What are the forms of socio-religious change that occur in the celebration of the Prophet's Birthday in Bagek Nunggal Hamlet, 2. What is the role of religious leaders through persuasive communication in dealing with these changes, 3. What is the impact of persuasive communication in Hamlet Bagek Nunggal. In the in-depth research of this thesis, the researcher used a descriptive type of research with a case study approach on the shift in the celebration of the Prophet's birthday in Bagek Nunggal Hamlet, West Lombok Regency. The steps in this thesis research are as follows: determine the research method, collect data in the field, then analyze the data to obtain research results. The results of this study indicate that socio-religious changes occur only in circumcision events in celebrations called maulid gawe huts. These changes occur through three dimensions, namely the structural dimension, the cultural dimension and the interactional dimension. Then the persuasive communication carried out by religious leaders received different responses from the community, some agreed and some did not agree with eliminating the maulid gawe hut celebration. In addition, religious leaders communicate persuasively using pay off ideas, fear arousing, and icing techniques. As well as persuasive communication carried out by religious leaders has a positive impact on the ongoing success to date.
