Abstract

This study is a quantitative study to analyze the level of efficiency of government spending on health and education sectors in Central Java Province in 2013-2019. Health and education expenditures are used as input variables and the percentage of households that have access to proper sanitation, life expectancy (AHH), morbidity rate in the last month, percentage of the population who experienced health complaints in the last month, school enrollment rate of the population aged 16-18 years, average length of schooling, literacy rate of the population aged 15 years and over, percentage of the population aged 15 years and over with education graduated from junior high school / equivalent are used as output variables. The data source used is secondary data obtained from the financial statements of the Direktorat Jenderal Perimbangan dan Keuangan (DJPK) of the Ministry of Finance and the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) to take the input and output variables of the study. The method used in this study is the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method, with an input approach based on the output produced. The results of this study show different conditions in each region from year to year. The highest level of efficiency was in 2016 with a total of 30 efficient districts, and the year with the least efficiency was in 2018 with a total of 20 districts. Meanwhile, the region that has not reached the efficient level from 2013-2019 is Banjarnegara Regency with an average of 0.8%.
