Abstract

Everyone has the possibility to become a victim. Verbal sexual harassment such as Catcalling can occur anywhere, for example in public places such as markets, terminals, roadsides, public transportation, and often even occurs at schools or campuses. Catcalling can be experienced by anyone regardless of age, therefore it includes female students. This research was conducted by taking the subject of female students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Students who are and have passed their teenage years will have more experience about many things. Among them is the experience of Catcalling while hanging out on campus and the community. This research is a quantitative research. In this study using a survey method. Survey research is research that takes samples from one population and uses a questionnaire as the principal data collection tool. Questionnaires were distributed via Whatsapp messages in the form of a Google form. The analytical method used is multiple simple linear regression test using SPSS version 16 for windows. The theory used by researchers to analyze this research is the theory of behaviorism presented by George Ritzer. The results of the research that has been done show that the correlation value of the two variables, variable X (catcalling behavior) and variable Y (the impact of catcalling on social relations) is 0.235, which means that the relationship between X and Y variables has an effect of 0.235. According to Riduwan (2013) this influence can be categorized as Low. The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.055 (5.5%). So it can be concluded that the catcalling behavior variable has an influence of 5.5% on the impact of catcalling on social relations, the remaining 94.5% is influenced by variables outside the variables in this study. And the results of the regression coefficient or the direction of the variable relationship are positive 0.155. This means that for every 1% addition of the value of Catcalling Behavior, the value of the Impact of Catcalling on Social Relations increases by 0.155. In the hypothesis test, a Sig value of 0.024 is obtained, which means it is smaller than 0.05, so it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted or in another sense there is a significant effect of Catcalling behavior on the impact of Catcalling on social relations, this is also reinforced by the test results simple linear regression.
