Abstract

Market competition that progressively tight strove for producer creates to innovate and product variation. To settle this problem, industrial sector have adopted concept from modularitas. modularitas's concept enable scheme where product architecture that giving to enable greater reusabilitas. To the effect from modularitas is first and specifically for get flexibility for kustomisasi mass, but modular product strategy enable firm to reach to amount to strategics gain is of important. In Method uses this research Modular Function Deployment (MFD) one that effective being utilized to do design of and also chair product development waits service on public utility that is at Yogyakarta's city for example Yogyakarta's Passenger Station, Lempuyangan's train station and Panembahan Senopati Hospital Yogyakarta. With five MFD'S main stages which is, determining customer need, choose and technical solution evaluation, resulting design concept, evaluation and concept elect, and in the end elected concept wills be base developmental succeeding. In this research through implement methodics MFD resultant four main modules. Module one, which is bottom bolster sits and lean. Module two, chair framework. Module three lean put hand out and module four chair foots. Where, among that module is linked by join's mechanism that designed by researcher. Final result of this research is one design of waiting seat service with modular product architecture that has many gains for example assembly variation and product purposes.
