Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how political communication strategies are used by parties to increase the enthusiasm of prospective voters and Islamic figures ahead of the 2024 presidential election. As well as the motives and strategies of Islamic leaders in influencing their people to vote for the PDI Perjuangan party. With this type of qualitative descriptive research and a case study approach to the DPD PDI Perjuangan D.I.Y period 2024. Researchers interviewed several sources consisting of structural and non-structural parties. The informant is Nuryadi as chairman of the DPD PDI Perjuangan D.I.Y. as well as Chairman of the provincial DPRD, Yan Kurnia Kustanto as Deputy Secretary for the PDI Perjuangan DPD Program, Masyhuri as chairman of Baitul Muslimin (Bamusi) as well as deputy chairman of Yogyakarta NU PW, Yoeke Indra Agung Laksana as Deputy Chair of Religion and Belief in God Almighty, Retno Pramestri as Head of the DPD PDI Perjuangan Disaster Management Agency D.I.Y. and Ahmad Zainal Abidin as a former administrator of the Nurul Ummah Islamic Boarding School for the 2021 period. The results of this study are 1) There are two message contents that are used to increase enthusiasm, in the form of nationalist and inclusive Islamic messages 2) There is strengthening of the party in the form of internal and external consolidation 3) The use the media, both electronic and social, in order to attract the sympathy of Yogyakarta Muslims has not been maximized 4) The political communication strategy used is quite influential to the community, although not all of them have an impact.
