Abstract

One of the important things that every company must watch out for is bankruptcy. Financial difficulties (financial distress) is one thing that can indicate stage early before bankruptcy. This study aims to determine the effect of sales growth, leverage and profitability on financial distress in companies in the food and beverage sector listed on the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) in 2017-2021. Object used as a research sample is a registered food and beverage manufacturing company in the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) in 2017-2021. Companies are selected based on criteria which has been determined using purposive sampling method in order to obtain a sample observations of 110 data. The analysis technique uses panel data regression which is processed with the Eviws v.9 program. Based on the results of data analysis that the overall hypothesis in this study supported. Where the sales growth indicator has a negative effect on financial distress, leverage has a positive effect on financial distress and profitability has a negative effect on financial distress.
