Abstract

This study attempts to analyze the influence of corruption perceptions index, foreign direct investment, total population, and government health expenditure on the human development index in 10 countries of ASEAN in 2010-2019. human development index is a universal indicator introduced by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in 1990 to measure the level of welfare of the population around the world. There are three dimensions to calculate the human development index which consists of health, education, and economy. This study uses secondary data obtained from the United Nations Development Program, World Bank, Transparency International, and ASEANStatsDataPortal. The data that has been collected is processed using quantitative methods and processed by panel data regression through the Fixed Effect Method (FEM) approach as the chosen approach model. This study presents that corruption perceptions index and government health expenditure have an effect on the human development index, while foreign direct investment and total population have no effect on human development index as evidenced by the T-test. In another test, namely the F-Test, shows the independent variable that consists of corruptions perceptions index, foreign direct investment, total population, and government health expenditure simultaneously affecting human development index.
