Abstract

Malaria is a common infectious disease in the tropical region, including Indonesia. This disease is transmitted by mosquito An. Aconitus as a main vector. In this research, the vector was controlled by using extracts of leaves and seeds of C.papaya. The extract was prepared by using two solvents, i.e aquades and ethanol. Parameters tested were LC50 (72 hours), mortality, length of time for pupation and imago hatching, and larval behaviour. The desain was completely randomized design which was then followed by statistical test, ANAVA and Duncan test. The result showed that leaves and seeds extract gave significant effects to the mortality of instar III larvae. The treatment of leaves extract seeds extract using ethanol as solvent gave the value of LC50 (72 hours) 1,4% and 3,9% respectively. In addition, the treatment of leaves extract and seeds extract using aqudest as solvent gave the value of of LC50 (72 hours) 4,5 % and 4,8 %.
