Abstract

This study aims to uncover the shifting of parenting to children after khitan. Khitan scientifically called circumcision, is the cuting process of children genital. It revealed, among others, how parenting parents applied before the child is circumcised, parenting after the child's circumcision, and behavioral changes seen in children after circumcision. Selected forms of qualitative research is a case study. Informants in the study amounted to 2 pairs of parents, each parent consist of fathers and mothers who have sons who are circumcised, an also a significant others who daily close to the informant. The data was collected through observation, depth interviews with research informants and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Research instrument is the author of a self-guided interview guides, observation and focus group design. For verification of the data using professional judgment, triangulation of data, FGD, and evaluation of peers. Research: Knowing the shifting of parenting in children after circumcision which affected several things. Parenting initially influenced by past experience, personality of parents, and the values espoused. In addition, parents have the concept of an ideal child (pious) and knowledge about circumcision and the obligations syar'i for children who already baligh. Children also continue to experience good growth of physical, cognitive, moral or social development. This resulted foster the shifthing of parenting and increasing the internalisasion of religion and moral values to the children.
