Abstract
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of positive parenting training in reducing the tantrum intensity of the preschool children. The undercommunication of parent skill to take care of children becomes one factor in amending the tantrum behavior which is caused by incapability of children to express their wish intactly. Therefore, they were given a treatment in the form of positive parenting training to give skill parent in taking care of their children with positive parenting. The subjects in this study were 4 couple of parent (8 people) which is include in the experiment group. This study is categoried as a quasi experimental research of which methods uses one group with pre-test and post-test design. The collecting data was done by using tantrum intensity scale and quisioner. The data analysis technique used within the study is wilcoxon signed-rank test. The result of the data analysis conducted to pre-test and posttest indicates the mean reduce after being given a treatment. However, the result of wilcoxon signed-rank test analysis indicates no different significant (p=0,109). Therefore, the positive parenting training has not proved effective in reducing the tantrum intencity.
