Abstract

Along with developments in the field of trade, advertising is a must to be done by each manufacturer, advertising conducted by the manufacturer certainly has many purposes. Therefore any parties who advertising have their own ways to achieve goals, either through content or messages or use of media and space or many other strategies. This study set out from researcher’s interest toward a new public share, at that time it was only in the city of Yogyakarta. The public share that studied is the waiting room for bicycle user located on four traffic light intersection of Yogyakarta and inside of that space written “Polygon”, which is a name of bicycle manufacturer, and it is an ad. Researcher want to know how public perception from road users that across four traffic light intersection of Urip Sumoharjo street, jendral Sudirman street and Jendral Sudirman street towards Polygon’s public share ad. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method, the object of this study are road user that know the present of Polygon’s ad in bike’s waiting room that treated as a resource in Depth Interview data retrieval using depth interviews with informants by referring to the Guide interview to get directional interview accordance with the purposes intended by the researcher, and researcher also use the data as supporting documentation and literature study. Once the required data was collected, The data will be analyzed and reformed to qualitative narratives to gauge public perception of road users towards advertising Polygon on bike waiting room located on the four traffic light intersection of Yogyakarta, Urip Sumoharjo street, Jendral Sudirman street and Diponegoro street. Reducting, descripting and summarizing method are used as analysis method, then researcher uses triangulation sources as validation of data. Based on the results of the research of community's perception of advertising in the Polygon’s advertisement in public share which in this study is waiting room for bicycle is good, people do not question the existence of advertising of a product on bike waiting room, and people considered Polygon participate in the success of government programs "Sego Segawe"
