Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of stock selection skill and market timing ability on the performance of Islamic equity mutual funds by using fund age and fund size control variables. The samples used in this study were 12 Islamic equity mutual funds registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the 2017–2021 period. The panel data regression analysis used in this study was done using Eviews Test Version 12. The results of this study indicate that stock selection skills and market timing abilities affect the performance of Islamic equity mutual funds. Meanwhile, the fund age and fund size control variables have a negative effect on the performance of Islamic equity mutual funds.
