Abstract

In Indonesia, poverty is still a crucial and unavoidable problem, especially in the province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Poverty that occurs in D.I Yogyakarta continues to increase every year. Therefore there is a need for a solution that can reduce the high poverty rate. As a country with a Muslim majority population, zakat has enormous potential in this regard. This research was conducted to measure how effective the zakat funds that have been distributed to mustahik from LAZISNU DIY on their level of welfare by using the Center of Islamic Business and Economic Studies (CIBEST) research method. The results of the study show that the zakat funds that have been distributed have an influence on the material and spiritual values of mustahik.
