Abstract
Regional economic development is the right of the regional government which involves the local community to carry out economic activities independently by optimizing the management of existing natural resources. from Pacitan Regency, Ponorogo Regency, Madiun Regency, Magetan Regency, Ngawi Regency and Madiun City. The data used is secondary data obtained through the Central Bureau of Statistics. The data used is data on Gross Regional Domestic Product by Business Field at Constant Prices from 2010-2021 in East Java Province and Regencies/Cities that are members of the Ex-Madiun Residency area. The analytical method used in this research is Location Quotient analysis, Klassen Typology, Shift Share, and Theil Entropy Index. The results of this study indicate that the average development inequality in Pacitan Regency is 0.73, Ponorogo Regency is 0.49, Madiun Regency is 0.64, Magetan Regency is 0.74, Ngawi Regency is 0.50, and Madiun City of 3.48. The results from the leading sectors obtained by each district/city in the former Madiun Residency are different depending on the potential possessed by each region. The leading sectors of each regency/city can become a priority in the implementation of economic development policies in the region concerned so as to be able to mobilize sectors that are not yet advanced.
