Abstract

At this time where information technology is developing rapidly, many preachers are modifying their preaching methods by using social media as a medium for preaching, in this case such as YouTube. One of the founding preachers of the Hijrah Youth movement, namely Ustadz Hanan Attaki, also uses YouTube to spread his message. This thesis discusses why and how the preaching of Ustadz Hanan Attaki is liked by millennials and what lessons can be taken for beginner preachers or YouTubers of da'wah, including first, the use of language and the method of conveying Ustadz Hanan Attaki's da'wah in his da'wah content on YouTube, the development of Ustadz da'wah Hanan Attaki and the impact of his preaching. This research is a qualitative research study with a social analysis. The sources for this research were obtained from the preaching content of Ustadz Hanan Attaki on YouTube as well as from articles, books and other references related to this research. The results of this study show that first, the development of Ustadz Hanan Attaki's da'wah is carried out by attracting a wider congregation through his YouTube social media, but also carrying out da'wah activities directly such as forest camps, jungle schools, less waste and so on which he also disseminates these activities via YouTube social media. Second, the developments resulting from the development of da'wah carried out by the current Ustadz Hanan Attaki led to acceptance and rejection of the da'wah that he brought, while those who received Ustadz Hanan Attaki's da'wah were a group of young people who were indeed the targets of his da'wah and there were also several other groups who had disagreements with the preaching he brought because he was considered to have a different order of preaching.
