Abstract

Communication is one important aspect that cannot be avoided by humans as social beings. In this case, communication is also necessary for the continuity of an organization. To achieve organizational goals, a supportive organizational communication climate is needed. The organizational communication climate also plays an important role in the work environment to create a conducive working atmosphere so that members can work optimally. As a government institution, Balai Diklat Keuangan Yogyakarta is governed by a fairly complex and structured bureaucratic system. The existence of a very complex and structured bureaucratic system has the potential to make communication that occurs in government agencies run formal and less flexible. The existence of these conditions is a challenge for Balai Diklat Keuangan Yogyakarta to be able to create a conducive organizational communication climate in order to improve the performance of its employees. This study aims to analyze the communication climate that occurs in Balai Diklat Keuangan Yogyakarta in improving employee performance. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method and the theory of human relations. Data collection is done by observation and interviews. The subject of this research is one company leader and three section heads or staff. The results of the study show that although tied to the bureaucratic system, the communication climate at Balai Diklat Keuangan Yogyakarta is going well and contributing to improving employee performance at Balai Diklat Keuangan Yogyakarta. Support is the most dominant factor in improving the performance of employees at Balai Diklat Keuangan Yogyakarta, because as social beings of course humans cannot work alone so they need help and support from others.
