Abstract

This research deals with the influence of inflation, per capita income, human development index, political stability and quality of regulation on the level of perceptions of corruption in member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). This research method uses quantitative data types with panel data for 10 years from 2012-2021. The research population is all member countries of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) with the sample selection technique using purposive sampling. The research sample consisted of 32 countries including Albania, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Gambia, Guinea, Guyana, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kyrgyztan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mali, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tunisia and Turkey. The analytical method used is the best panel data analysis method by selecting from three models such as the common effect model, fixed effect model and random effect model with testing techniques namely the Chow test, Hausman test and Langrange multiplier test. The results showed that the selected model was the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The t-test shows that inflation, per capita income, and the human development index partially have a positive and significant effect on the level of perceptions of corruption. The f test shows that inflation, per capita income, human development index, political stability and regulatory quality simultaneously have a significant effect on the level of perceptions of corruption in member countries of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC).
