Abstract

The development of technology today is no longer unfamiliar among the public, one of which has an impact on the financial sector, or in this case called Financial Technology. One of them affects the fundraising carried out by philanthropic institutions in the DIY region, especially in this case BAZNAS DIY. This study aims to analyze the extent of the development and effectiveness of the use of Fintechin optimizing baznas DIY zakat fund collection. This research uses qualitative research methods with the type of field research (field reseach) or direct research. The data sources used are primary and secondary data, obtained through observation, interviews and documentation on BAZNAS DIY. In the course of this research using descriptive analysis, where qualitative data are studied, analyzed and then developed and adjusted to the supporting theories used. From the research conducted, it was found that, BAZNAS uses 2 methods of collecting zalat funds, namely directly and with Fintech, but the use of Fintechis still less effective in BAZNAS DIY, due to the lack of enthusiasm of muzakki to obtain information as well as using technology in paying zakat which is hampered due to the age of some muzakki who are elderly, and lack of awareness of the obligation to donate to the surrounding community.
