Abstract

In the era of regional autonomy, the function of supervising local government is very important, for this reason this function must be carried out as much as possible so that a democratic government is implemented in Indonesia, especially in the regions. With oversight by the DPRD of the regional government, the implementation of local government programs can proceed according to the stipulations between the executive and legislative parties so that good government can be realized. Article 1 paragraph (2) of Law Number 32 of 2004 states that the Regional People's Legislative Council (DPRD) has the position of being the people's representative in the region who has equality with regional heads and does not dominate one another. DPRD as the representative of the people has authority in supervising local government policies. This research uses the field research method or field research. This research is descriptive-analytic in nature. Descriptive method. The approach used in this research is an empiric-juridical approach. In this research, the data sources used are primary data sources obtained through interviews, observations , and documentation, along with secondary data sources in the form of laws and even decisions obtained from legal books and journals. From the various descriptions that have been conveyed by the author, in this study, it can be understood that the supervisory function of the Mukomuko Regency DPRD has been carried out in accordance with the authorities and functions determined by laws and regulations, but in practice it has not been fully maximized. The Mukomuko Regency DPRD has supervised every policy carried out by the regional government. From the perspective of siyasa dusturiyah, the supervisory function is to ensure good performance results from the administrative and financial centers, and to ensure that targets are not deviated from the performance levels set out in the plans that have been made. The Mukomuko Regency DPRD is in accordance with its rights and obligations which is to make regional regulations, carry out its functions, and oversee how the regional government runs. Here, the Mukomuko Regency DPRD has accommodated all the aspirations that exist in the community, these aspirations are to advance government and prosper the community.
