Abstract

Children's fine motor skills in general still require special attention. Because there is still low flexibility and smoothness of moving the fingers. Children are less precise in holding pencils, writing letters, drawing, coloring, and choosing colors. Lack of children's ability to express themselves. The creativity of educators is also not maximized, in providing learning models that match the characteristics of children. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of finger painting to improve fine motor skills and the implementation of early childhood learning at RA Al Anwar Kediri. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Research subjects: 1 school principal, 2 teachers, and 15 early childhood children. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using the Milles and Huberman models include: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data analysis techniques use source, time, and technique triangulation. The results showed that: first, the implementation of finger painting was carried out in three stages, namely planning, implementing and evaluating. Implementation of finger painting through three stages, namely initial activities, core activities, and closing activities. The assessment technique used is anecdotal notes, works, and checklists with reference to BB, MB, BSB, BSH. The two implications of finger painting in learning are related to children's abilities in fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration or the ability to express themselves. Finger painting can improve children's fluency in the idea of choosing colors, painting according to ideas, and painting according to themes. Children's flexibility for image modification, hand coordination, neatness, freedom of painting, and eye and hand movements. The originality of children can create different works of art, and elaboration by exploring finger movements, colors and the environment by adding objects to the painting. Stimulus given by educators can increase children's learning readiness so they can flex their fingers and maximize children's small muscles. So that children can more easily perform various activities that require finger movements. Like painting, holding pencils, drawing, coloring, and so on.
