Abstract

A married couple should ideally live in the same place, however, in practice, some couples are compelled to live apart or have a long-distance marriage, which makes fulfilling marital responsibilities ineffective since the couple can only meet at a later time. When a couple is separated, trust is a crucial issue. In three couples of husband and wife, the age of marriage ranges from two to four and a half years. Data were acquired through interviews and observations with a technical phenomenological approach snowball sampling. Based on the findings, two out of every three partners in this research did not trust each other. Openness between partners, conversation, cooperation, affection, and understanding of each other's issues are all characteristics of trust in long-distance marriages. Trust is established by a partner's attitude of trust and concern for their relationship. Meanwhile, a lack of trust in a couple is caused by the partner's insecurity and care for their partner.
