Abstract

This research was conducted starting with the COVID-19 pandemic which spread in Indonesia and then had an impact on the learning process, initially learning was carried out offline then switched to online this resulted in various parties being affected from students, and educators to parents as well as felt for students with needs special. This study aims to identify and analyze the learning strategies implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic in special schools. In this study, the method used was field research (Field Research) using a qualitative approach. There were 8 research subjects, the researcher conducted interviews with several informants including the Head of School, Deputy Head of Curriculum, Deputy Head of Facilities and Infrastructure, Coordinator of the Blind Department, Coordinator of the Deaf Department, Coordinator of the Mentally Disabled Department, Coordinator of the Physically Impaired Department, Coordinator of the Autistic Department and also through data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis research was used through 3 stages, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data in this study was carried out using method triangulation and source triangulation techniques. The results of the study show (1) The management of distance learning strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic at SLB N 1 Bantul needs to be carried out in order to minimize obstacles and obstacles from various parties. (2) Implementation of strategic management carried out by SLB N 1 Bantul includes a. Determination of the formulation of strategies, and policies that have been derived by the government adapted to the situation and conditions. b. The PJJ carried out for ABK during the COVID-19 pandemic at SLB N 1 Bantul is blended learning which means that learning is carried out mixed not purely online, this learning uses the K13 curriculum which is adapted to the conditions of each student because from one major to another you cannot generalized. c. The evaluation is carried out by reporting in meetings every week. (3) Obstacles during PJJ students do not take part in learning, lack of understanding of the material, the parents' economy is not sufficient in carrying out PJJ online, students' moods fluctuate, some programs are not delivered, and difficulties when collecting data numbers. The solution is to do Home Visits, approach parents, provide offline services, check on students, deliver programs during normal learning, and socialize.
