Abstract

This research is motivated by technological advances that affect various fields, one of which is education. These technological advances have caused the education sector to continue to make changes in order to achieve progress. So that, it needs to be explained to find out how the response of education managers in dealing with technological advances, as well as what are the impacts arising from changes in the field of education caused by these technological advances. This research is a type of qualitative research with a case study approach. The research was conducted at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Ma'arif Pucang, Magelang Regency. The informants in the study were determined using the snowball sampling technique, so that the informants consisted of the Head of the Madrasah, the Deputy Head of the Madrasah for Curriculum and Infrastructure and the Head of Administration. Data collection techniques are through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques were carried out by condensing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions from data. Then the validity technique is carried out through source triangulation to check the correctness of the data obtained. The results of the study state that the strategy is very important for the head of the Madrasah to analyze potentials, challenges and determine the solutions taken by the madrasa in an effort to adapt to the environment. So there are several strategies for the head of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Ma'arif Pucang in dealing with educational transformation in the digital era, including; (1) prepare yourself for various changes. The existence of good self-preparation will foster the right attitude in determining actions (2) Establish good communication and relationships with various parties. The strategy of establishing cooperation with other parties is one of the strong steps in facing competition in the midst of global currents. (3) Utilizing all existing resources in the madrasa. (4) Strengthening internal collaboration, (5) Using gadgets to support learning. Some of these strategies are considered effective in dealing with educational transformation at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Ma'arif Pucang as evidenced by the smooth learning activities and maximum teacher performance. The positive impacts of education transformational are; (1) marketing that can be done more broadly via the web; (2) report card management is faster; (3) use of gadgets to support student memorization and (4) increase experience in the IT field. The negative impacts of educational transformation for Madrasah Tsanawiyah Ma'arif Pucang include; (1) soaring electrical installations; (2) the cost of maintaining the facility is not small and (3) limited land to support the development of student activities.
