Abstract

This study aims to describe and explore how important the inculcation of prophetic social values is in the world of education and to see how the internalization of character values contained in Kuntowijoyo's prophetic social values through the reflective writing method of the Design for Change (DfC) model. To achieve the above objectives, the method used is exploratory qualitative research in which researchers explain research problem solving and look for new relationships in research findings. Participants are master program students at the Postgraduate Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Data collection was carried out by interviews as primary data, and documents in the form of reflective writing from the first to the 14th week of meetings as secondary data. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model through four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Results showed that participants managed to instill positive character values even though not on a weekly basis. They also managed to instill prophetic social values in the form of three pillars, namely humanism, transcendence, and liberation into their real lives. The results also showed that participants received a positive impression during the program as a learning process of Islamic value and spiritual education courses. By writing reflective the model of DfC, the participants not only managed to instill positive character values even though not on a weekly basis, but also managed to instill prophetic social values in the forms of the aforementioned pillars, namely humanism, transcendence, and liberation into their real lives. Based on the results of the interviews, it was found that there were four main topics which became the central point of this study, namely interesting and positive, man behind the gun: depending on who the actor is, new experiences in writing, implementation of values within oneself.
