Abstract

Research the analysis of sediment layer thickness has been carried out in the western and eastern areas of the Opak Fault using 75 microtremor data (33 primary data and 42 secondary data). The research area includes the Young Merapi Volcanic Deposit Formation, the Alluvium Formation, the Nglanggran Formation, the Semilir Formation, the Sambipitu Formation and the Wonosari Formation. This study aims to analyze the thickness of the sediment layer, determine the distribution of dominant frequency values (f0), amplification factor (A0), and average shear wave velocity (Vs,av), and analyze seismic cross-sections based on the H/V curve. The method used in this research is the HVSR (Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio) method and the ellipticity curve method. The results of the study show that f0 values range from 0.884 hz to 14.98 hz, A0 values range from 1.439 to 7.873, and Vs,av values range from 145.015 m/s to 1147,960 m/s. The thickness of the sediment layer (h) varies between 8.931 m to 84.007 m. The lowest sediment layer thickness value is in the Alluvium Formation and the highest sediment thickness value is in the Young Merapi Formation, this can occur due to the presence of deposits in the form of alluvial rocks. The seismic section of the H/V curve is represented to determine the thickness value based on the values of the parameters f0 and Vs,av. High sediment thickness values correlate with soil amplification values. When viewed based on the value of the thickness of the sediment layer obtained, the Young Merapi Formation has the highest level of earthquake-prone risk and the Alluvium Formation has the lowest level of risk.
