Abstract

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder that often affects women's reproductive health problems where high levels of androgen hormones are found, where these hormones are known as male hormones and cause the ovaries to produce many small lumps filled with fluid and cause egg cells cannot develop properly and fail to be released regularly. The lack of awareness of women in carrying out examinations regarding their reproductive system causes PCOS to be detected after the woman is married and it is difficult to have children. This study aims to build an expert system that can diagnose the potential of a woman with PCOS earlier and provide information about PCOS according to the knowledge of an expert. This expert system uses the forward chaining search method and the certainty factor method. Testing is carried out using manual calculations of the certainty factor method in this system which produces the same percentage of potential as that produced by the system, with a system accuracy level that reaches 64% with 25 trial data. In the Alpha test, this system was stated 100% worked while beta testing by users stated the functionality of the system at 96.67% agreed and 3.33% disagreed and the system interface at 20.95% strongly agreed, 70.74% agree, 7.61% neutral, and 0.95% disagree. Based on the test results above, it shows that the results of the design and implementation of the system are appropriate.
