Abstract

Making career plans and decisions for students is quite difficult and can have an impact on regression or self-development if they are unable to plan their future careers properly. Therefore, students must choose carefully about their career plans that are clear and directed. Efforts that can be made and are considered capable of training career decision making are career guidance provided by counseling teachers at school to students so that students are able to plan careers, make career decisions and be able to have a good career. This study aims to determine the effect of career guidance services on career decision making of XII grade students of MAN 3 Sleman. This study used a quantitative approach with the type of pre-experiment research using a one group pre-test and post-test design. The subjects of this study were 17 students of class XII MAN 3 Sleman who had a low level of career decision making. The instrument used to collect data was a career decision-making scale. Data analysis used Wilcoxon signed ranks test with the help of IBM SPSS for Windows program. The value of the wilcoxon signed ranks test shows Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000. (p < 0.5). Thus it can be concluded that there is an effect of career guidance on career decision making. Providing career guidance can help MAN 3 Sleman students in making career decisions.
