Abstract

The phenomenon of unregistered marriage raises pros and cons in the midst of a multicultural society. Variants of perceptions about the legitimacy and invalidity of secret marriages The practice of unregistered marriages has many negative impacts on women. There is negative and positive stigma towards unregistered marriages, and many are influenced by various factors. One of them is the construction of news from online media. The ideology of each medium also plays an important role in presenting accurate news. Therefore, the media has a big role in producing quality news. so that readers can understand the contents of the news conveyed. In this study, we used a descriptive-qualitative approach. Using Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing analysis knife Identify the four structures of syntax, script, thematic, and rhetorical. The last step is then examined from the point of view of Islamic journalism. The formulation of the problem in research is (1). How is the construction of siri marriage news in online media Kompas.com and Republika.co.id. based on the analysis of Zhongdang and Kosicki (2). What are the differences in the construction of the siri marriage news in the online media Kompas.com and Republika.co.id (3).What is the construction of "Siri marriage news" in the online media Kompas.com and Republika.co.id from the perspective of Islamic journalism. This study aims to determine the construction of news in the online media Kompas.com and Republika.co.id. Then they were analyzed using the perspective of Islamic journalism. The research object is 12 news stories about unregistered marriages in the period March-November 2022. This is to see differences in media construction when framing news. The results of this study are as follows: first, in terms of construction, Kompas.com and Republika.co.id both convey information about unregistered marriages that should be avoided by the public. The results of the second study show that the different constructions of the media are influenced by each ideology. Kompas.com, which has nationalist characteristics, reports a lot about the negative impacts of unregistered marriages. Republika.co.id, which has an Islamic ideology, raised the news with a religious approach. The third research result shows that, on the perspective aspect of Islamic journalism, Kompas.com has not fully implemented the values of the concept of Islamic journalism. while Republika.co.id as a whole has prioritized the Islamic concept of the construction of siri marriage news.
