Abstract

Understanding of sharia tourism has increased and has a positive influence on people's income. With increasing tourist interest in travel experiences that conform to Islamic values, tourism industry players have seized lucrative business opportunities. In addition, sharia tourism also encourages local economic development in areas with religious tourism potential. Even though there are challenges that need to be overcome, sharia tourism has made a significant contribution to increasing people's income. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the understanding of sharia tourism and the influence of sharia tourism on people's economic income. This research is a quantitative descriptive analysis research and the data source used is primary data obtained from interviews and questionnaires. Respondents who participated in this study were 101 samples taken from the community located in Samigaluh District, Kulon Progo Regency. The analytical method used in this research is correlation analysis in which the data is processed using SPSS software. The results of this study indicate that the variable understanding of sharia tourism and the influence of sharia tourism has a correlation with people's economic income.
