Abstract

The people of Yogyakarta, who are known for having noble guidelines and philosophies in living life, should be surprised by the data that this province is in the top 10 regions with the highest cases of religious intolerance in Indonesia in 2019. This has prompted researchers to analyze more deeply the government's efforts, especially the Ministry Religion in fighting for religious moderation for all elements of state life from the point of view of communication planning. Religious moderation in this study is placed as an anticipatory step that encourages the goal of religious harmony and the achievement of national development. Considering that religious moderation is a shared responsibility, in this study the researcher wanted to analyze more deeply the communication planning process for Hindu Community Advisors in the framework of fostering religious moderation. Using a qualitative descriptive research type and data collection methods in the form of interviews, literature studies, observation, and documentation, this study resulted in the conclusion that the communication planning carried out by Hindu Community Advisors so far has been going very well, this is evidenced by the use of resources in the most effective way and efficiently according to regulations, five-step communication planning, and planning functions.
