Abstract

Student learning outcomes can be influenced by several factors, including appropriate learning models and media that support the learning process. One of the potential local arts that can be used as a source of learning is the traditional gamelan instrument. This study aims to 1) Produce physics e-comic products for students on sound wave material, 2) Know the quality of physics e-comic on the subject of sound waves, 3) Know students' responses to physics e-comic development products on wave material sound. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the 4D model developed by Thiagarajan, including 4 stages, (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Develop, and (4) Disseminate. This research was only carried out up to the third stage, namely develop on the implementation of the broad test. The instruments used were product and instrument validation sheets, e-comic product feasibility assessment sheets, and student response sheets. The data analysis technique used to assess the quality of this physics e-comic is a descriptive statistical analysis technique with a Likert scale of four different levels and student responses using the Guttman scale in the form of a checklist. This research produces an e-comic product on sound wave material that utilizes the potential of local gamelan arts. The quality of e-comic products assessed by material expert assessors obtained an average score of 3.46 in the Very Good category (SB), then the assessment from media experts obtained a score of 3.25 in the Good category (B), and the assessment from the physics teacher obtained a score of 3.72 is in the Very Good category (SB), and the student's response to the product trial obtains an Agree (S) response, with limited test and broad test scores respectively 0.95 and 0.86. In product trials, it can help students increase their knowledge or insights about the potential of the local gamelan art, which is an example of physical phenomena in everyday life related to sound waves.
