Abstract

This research is important to do because the learning done at PMDG for girls 1 not have a significant effect on KMI student, so that it requires educational institutions to formulate a good curriculum, namely in the form of integration of written and hidden curricula in an effort to strengthen the character of students. This study aims to examine the integration of written and hidden curricula in strengthening the character of santriwati at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri Campus 1, the problems of integrating written and hidden curricula and the role of integration of written and hidden curricula on strengthening the character of santriwati at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri Campus 1. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects were selected purposively, which included vice head master, vice directors of KMI, guadience and KMI staff, five ustadzah and fifteen santriwati at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri Campus 1. Data collection techniques were using semi-structured interviews, documentation and participatory observation then analyzed using the stages of data condensation, presenting/displaying data, and drawing conclusions/verifying. Test the validity of the data using observation extension, increasing persistence, source triangulation, technique triangulation, and using reference materials. The results of the study concluded that: First, the integration of written and hidden curricula at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri Campus 1 is carried out in 4 components, there are: components of objectives, materials, methods, evaluation. The strategy in the integration process of written and hidden curriculum consists of 2 strategies : the structural aspect strategy includes extracurricular activities and facilities, the cultural strategy includes culture and social relations among pesantren residents. Second, the problems faced are the lack of understanding and appreciation of the values of the Islamic boarding school, over quantity (too many female students), low student interest and lack of discipline. The efforts made include providing an understanding of the philosophy of the Islamic boarding school, holding an among system, cultivating the interest of female students, forming and exemplary habits. Third,the integration of written and hidden curricula has a positive impact on strengthening santriwati character with the specification of the ethical dimension including honest, trustworthy and orderly attitude, the literacy dimension includes smart, creative and innovative thingking, the aesthetic dimension includes awareness of human values, mutual cooperation and prioritizing the public interest, and the kinesthetic dimension includes a healthy, sporty and competitive lifestyle.
