Abstract

The problems faced by students in learning Islamic Education are the lack of motivation to learn the material, limited understanding of religious concepts, and lack of active involvement in learning. In addition, the lack of creativity of teachers in developing learning methods is also a problem. This study aimed to formulate the use of fun learning in Islamic Education learning in the era of 4.0, identify the implementation of fun learning in Islamic Education learning in the era of 4.0, and analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of fun learning in Islamic Education learning in the era of 4.0 at Lembaga Ka Uqoy Private Yogyakarta.. This study used a qualitative research. Informants were selected using purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used in this study were Miles and Huberman's qualitative data analysis techniques, including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Data validation was carried out using triangulation techniques, including source triangulation, and technique triangulation.. The research findings indicate that the reason for using fun learning methods in PAI (Islamic Education) teaching during the 4.0 era at Lembaga Ka Uqoy Private is due to its benefits. Fun learning provides variations in the learning process, enables students to understand, remember, enjoy, and develop skills through fun learning activities. In PAI teaching, fun learning actively engages students in the development of their sensory and motor skills. In its implementation, teachers adopt the concept of fun learning by first entering the students' world. They use engaging, enjoyable, creative, and innovative learning media and models that are tailored to the students' characteristics and the Islamic Education subject matter. Teachers also incorporate Islamic songs in the core learning activities. The advantages of fun learning in PAI teaching at Lembaga Ka Uqoy Private Yogyakarta include improving students' communication, collaboration, confidence, creativity, and critical thinking abilities. It leads to increased focus, active participation, and enthusiasm in understanding the subject matter. Additionally, it helps shape students' ethics during the learning process. However, some limitations of fun learning in PAI teaching include the limited application of Islamic learning manners (adab), difficulties in assessing learning outcomes, time constraints, and teachers' creative thinking in preparing and implementing fun learning methods. There is also a challenge in aligning fun learning methods with the recommended focus areas in PAI teaching.
