Abstract

Indonesia has great potential in the economic sector derived from zakah because it has the largest Muslim population in the world. However, zakah in Indonesia can only be absorbed by 12 percent even though it can be a source of poverty alleviation, which is still around 26.36 million people. 140 Amil Zakah Institutions in Indonesia have stepped in to sensitize the public to give zakah, including Rumah Zakat, which has been involved since the 1998 monetary crisis. Rumah Zakat conducts many promotional strategies by applying humanitarian and spiritual values, but zakah receipts still fluctuate even though zakah is one of the contributions in the Desa Berdaya program which aims to alleviate poverty. The formulation of this research problem is how prophetic communication is implemented in the promotion of Desa Berdaya program. The purpose is to analyze the value of prophetic communication implemented in the promotional activities of Rumah Zakat. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with data collection through interview, observation and documentation. The results showed that Rumah Zakat has implemented prophetic communication in its promotional activities. The humanization value is shown by raising social issues and calling for human rights. The value of liberation is shown by the publication of beneficiaries out of the poverty line. The value of transcendence is built on the postulates (nash) of Islam. The conclusion of this research is that prophetic communication is implemented in promotion, but the humanization and liberation values are not based on secular human values, but come from transcendence values. Humanization and liberation values are not anthropocentric paradigm, but theocentric paradigm, i.e. all life problems are returned to the value of God.
