Abstract

Communication is an important part of every layers of human life. Prayer is a form of communication between a Muslims and God. Allah promises great virtues for His servants who establish congregational prayers. However, the phenomenon that occurs is that Muslim female students appear to be praying alone or commonly called munfarid, even though they are in the mosque. This might be influenced by intrapersonal communication that occurs among Muslim women. Based on the background above, the purpose of this research is to answer the formulation of the problem, namely to find out how Muslim women's intrapersonal communication is carried out during individual prayers at the Mosque of the Religious Laboratory of the Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Mosque, Yogyakarta. The theory used in this study is intrapersonal communication, then analyzed with the argument about the munfarid prayers of Fardhu. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. The data collection method used interviews with six informants who had performed prayers at the Religion Laboratory of the Mosque of the Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University, Yogyakarta. The results of this study found that cognitive abilities that are quite complex in forming perceptions have the ability to be able to create patterns of person-centered messages which play an important role in the success of communication, as well as by these informants, who have a variety of perceptions that are built in the process of intrapersonal communication be the reason and consideration for munfarid prayers. Scientific considerations related to procedures, obligations, recommendations, and prohibitions in congregational prayers and makmum masbuq which are not fully understood. Therefore it is important for all Muslims to further deepen their knowledge of worship.
