Abstract

This research aimed to design, manufacture, and test a DPSM (Digital Panel Survey Meter) to monitor X-ray voltage, current, and exposure time on radiographic equipment. This research has been starting with the design, manufacture, and testing of DPSM. DPSM design has been done by making software designs using CorelDraw and hardware designs using EasyEDA and Thinkercad applications. The manufacturing stage has been done by making DPSM hardware and software. Hardware manufacturing includes component assembly, casing manufacturing, and hardware installation on the radiographic control panel. The software created consists of ILLI9486 LCD-based DPSM software and GUI-based. DPSM testing has been done by looking for the accuracy and reproducibility precision of the DPSM parameters of X-ray voltage, current, and exposure time. The X-ray voltage and exposure time parameters were compared with the Raysafe X2 meter, while the current parameters were compared with the Zotex ZTX Multimeter. DPSM has been successfully designed, manufactured, and tested with an accuracy value of 99.53% for the X-ray voltage parameter, 98.05% for the X-ray current parameter, and 99.62% for the X-ray exposure time parameter. The reproducibility precision values obtained were 100% for the X-ray voltage parameter, 98.06% for the X-ray current parameter, and 99.62% for the X-ray exposure time parameter. The test results indicate that DPSM can provide accurate and consistent measurements and has met the standards set by SNI ISO 17025 and PERKA BAPETEN No. 2 of 2020. The results of this study are expected to positively contribute to radiology, especially in monitoring the voltage, current, and time of X-ray irradiation for radiation work safety.
