Abstract

Monitoring the volume of infusion fluids and body temperature is vital to health care. Monitoring of these two parameters needs to be done in real-time to monitor the patient's condition and prevent infiltration so that it can help medical personnel. This study aims to design, manufacture, and test a system for monitoring infusion fluid volume and body temperature using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This research was conducted in three stages: design, manufacture, and system testing. The system was designed using Fritzing, KiCad 6.0, and Sketchup 2017. The system was built with NodeMCU ESP32 hardware, a load-cell sensor, an MLX90614 temperature sensor, an HX711 module, a 16x2 LCD with I2C, and a buzzer. Data reception system for infusion fluid volume and body temperature through a 16x2 LCD screen display and Telegram chat room. Early warning system notifications are sent if the infusion volume is 50 mL and/or the body temperature is 38 oC via an alarm buzzer and Telegram. System testing is carried out in four stages: sub-system testing, testing the entire system, accuracy, and precision repetition. The results of sub-system and system testing show a 100% success rate. Testing the accuracy of infusion volume and body temperature was 97.58% and 99.13%, respectively, while testing the precision of repetition of infusion volume and body temperature was 99.91% and 99.94%, respectively.
