Abstract

Communication is important for carrying out social life because communication is the process of conveying messages or information from one person to another or from the communicator to the communicant. In the process of conveying information, the media has a role as a means of introduction so that the information to be conveyed can be conveyed properly. One of the media that can be used as a communication medium is film, films can convey various kinds of messages including Islamic character education messages which are usually found in films that have a religious genre. The film Mengejar Surga has Islamic character education values that can be used as lessons that can be applied in life. This study uses qualitative methods with Roland Barthes semiotic theory with documentation techniques as a data collection technique. Then analyze the scenes that have Islamic character education values, namely optimism, trust, sincerity, religion, mutual help, and courage.
