Abstract

This research is motivated by the significance of communication in human life. Syaikh Ahmad Rifai emerges as a reformist scholar who introduces the concept of creative and innovative preaching by incorporating the concept of art. Thus, this research formulates the inquiry: What are the preaching messages conveyed by Syaikh Ahmad Rifa’i in the book 'Abyanal Khawaij,' volume 6? The objective of this study is to describe and analyze the preaching messages of Syaikh Ahmad Rifa’i in the book 'Abyanal Khawaij,' volume 6. This study employs qualitative content and literature analysis methods, utilizing a descriptive-analytical approach. 'Abyanal Khawaij,' volume 6, serves as the primary data source, while secondary data consists of books discussing Syaikh Ahmad Rifa’i. The writing style of this study employs the Max Weber writing style. The research findings indicate that the preaching messages of Syaikh Ahmad Rifa’i in the book 'Abyanal Khawaij,' volume 6, encompass the following: Firstly, an individual of sound mind and mature age is obligated to abstain from reprehensible traits such as ostentation, arrogance, envy, and indulgence. Secondly, after avoiding these reprehensible traits in accordance with Islamic law, it is highly likely that the individual will attain the status of 'waliyullah' (friend of God) with a level of sainthood corresponding to their personal capabilities.
